“What the hell?” He tried again. Nothing. His hands were phantoms. He couldn’t interact with any of the physics objects—the very core of Boneworks . He was a viewer, not a participant. A ghost.
One raised a slow, deliberate arm and pointed at him. Its finger twitched, and a text box appeared in Jax’s vision, typed in real-time: USER NOT FOUND. EXECUTE REMOVAL. Jax stumbled backward in his tiny room, almost tripping over his coffee table. But in VR, his avatar just shuffled awkwardly. The Nullbodies rushed him.
