Connor knelt down, folded the scarves, and placed the mask on the top shelf—not hidden, just resting. Then he closed the closet door gently, leaving it just barely ajar. ” Connor said slowly

Then he was gone, a small gray blur slipping into the brighter dark of the hallway.
