Introduction: The Perfect Storm for Modding Released on September 3, 2013, Diablo 3 for the Xbox 360 (and PS3) represented a unique anomaly in the franchise’s history. Unlike the PC version, which required an always-online connection and stored all character data on Blizzard’s servers (making traditional save editing nearly impossible), the Xbox 360 version offered offline local saves . This decision, born from console architecture and player demand for offline couch co-op, inadvertently opened the floodgates for one of the most prolific save-editing scenes of the console generation.
