The camera pulls back to reveal ELARA (17, sharp-eyed, tired of pretending) sitting in a candlelit antechamber. She’s no longer in her scavenged gear, but a stiff velvet gown. Her wrists are raw from where the cuffs were removed. “Last we saw, we’d won.
