Later that night, Yuji’s school life is interrupted when he visits the Occult Research Club to retrieve his stolen senpai’s badge. There, he encounters , a stoic young man who reveals the truth: a powerful cursed object—a finger belonging to the legendary demon Ryomen Sukuna —is in the club’s possession.

By ingesting the finger, Yuji becomes a vessel for Ryomen Sukuna , the King of Curses. Sukuna briefly takes over Yuji’s body, massacring the curses with a terrifying smirk. However, Yuji manages to regain control, surprising even Sukuna.

The episode opens with high school student Yuji Itadori visiting his dying grandfather in the hospital. His grandfather’s final words— "You're strong, so help people. Don't worry about being thanked. Just die surrounded by people who care about you" —become the emotional core of Yuji’s character arc.
