Leo leaned back, dust motes dancing in the overhead bulb. He’d tried everything: target disk mode, a bootable USB made from a newer Mac, even a Linux live CD. Nothing worked. The old Mac refused to see any installer as legitimate. Leo smiled, closed the old MacBook, and carried
