The Blu-ray includes unrated extended versions of key episodes like “Battle at the Binary Stars.” You get more Klingon dialogue (subtitled, of course), more Lorca being Lorca, and a fight scene that’s 30% more brutal. Streaming doesn’t have these.

If you hated S1, the special features will at least explain why it went so hard on the serialized, grimdark tone. If you loved it, the A/V upgrade and extras make it feel like a different show.
